Folks, I’ve been traveling for many, many years. But I’ve only been keeping this blog for a few years, on and off. So I have many experiences, stories and photographs archived in my life’s vault that have not been represented on this site. I put together this map to mark all these places, most before this blog existed.

Aside from family vacations during childhood, in high school my mother took my brother and I to France for my first time. A couple years later at 21 years old, and during a year abroad in France, I did my first solo backpacking trip around Spain and Portugal. That experience had a tremendous impact on me. Many years ago I wrote a detailed journal of that trip, which I will perhaps develop into a retrospective post here (hey,  that’s actually a good idea…).

In the twenty years since then, I have traveled mainly all round Europe (I was married to a German for some time), but have also visited: South Africa, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico several times. I added this map feature to encourage my readers to think big and be inspired. I just want to show that you don’t have to go everywhere today or even this year. You have time. So be patient and just get out there and go somewhere!
