In early June I wrapped up a two and a half week visit to Ecuador. Now, people visit nations for certain typical travel routes and destinations. I don’t usually do that. In this case it was an exploratory visit and I spent my stay in Quito. I took a Spanish class, visited many restaurants, got to know the city, and met a few people. I did one day trip excursion with a new friend to the Cascadas of Condor Machay, about an hour plus outside of Quito.
I guess my life at home is so tranquil and peaceful, that when I travel I prefer the bustle of a city and all the action that a city affords. Culture, bustle, restaurants, dance classes, Spanish classes, dinners, strolling, etc,. Quito is a vibrant and lovely city. I was so impressed with everything. The quality of the food was excellent, presentation and pride was excellent, service mentality was excellent, people so friendly, polite and welcoming.
